We took a ferry off the east end of the island to avoid Houston and take in a lot of miles driving along the coast. In Louisiana we crossed the
Atchafalaya swamp which is the largest wetlands and swamp in the country. We drove 18.2 miles thru it on I-10 on elevated pillars.
