We had a great hotel last night. The first direction our navigator gave us was to take a right turn in 406 miles! Our travels today have taken us into Montana and west to Glacier. I love the terrain here-prairies but with lots of hills and valleys. The top of the hills look like someone has cut them off-they are a fairly consistent level. As we continued on the hills disappeared and we returned to flat prairies.
Not long after entering MT we saw dinosaurs on a hillside. We were hoping to see some buffalo but this was as close as we came.
The pipeline brought hundreds of new workers to the region creating a need for housing. Many little apartment housing complexes were developed to accommodate them.

We saw several freight trains that had at least 100 cars each, all heading east. Most were oil or grain cars.
The vastness of the country due to the open, flat plains is indescribable. I understand why it's called big sky country.

We had our first faux pax at the Cut Bank so had to journey on to Browning which is a much nicer hotel and 30 miles closer to the entrance to Glacier.
Love the dinosaurs! Love, Jean
